I think it depends on your area/ cost of living. We found a "inexpensive" nanny share here. $13 an hour split two ways. It comes out to be about $240 a week or around $1000 a month. She doesn't do Fridays (we have free care that day).
totally depends where you live. I'm in NYC but I lucked out cause my sis is starting grad school and needed a pt job. She has been a nanny in the past and th going rate around here is between $10-20 per hour depending on experience.
We pay her a salary of $375 weekly for 3 days. Anything extra she is just doing as LO's "aunty" but she gave us a rate of what she would need to budget for her living expenses and this breaks down to approb $13/hr.
Many nanny's want salary so they can budget or at least a guaranteed amount of hr per week.
