If your LO sleeps in the RNP at night, do they seem comfortable? I'm starting to think that P is outgrowing it. He gets cranky every morning when he tries to stretch. It's almost like his legs don't have room because the incline pushes him down. I bring him into my bed in the morning and he stretches out and falls back to sleep. I think he's ready for the crib, but I don't know if I am!
Re: if the RNP is your bassinnette...
We stopped using the RnP months ago. Maybe around 2 months? But after a month and a half he was pretty much always sleeping in his crib at night. During the day he may nap in the RnP.
hmf. The product description says "Use from birth until child is able to pull up or sit unassisted. Maximum weight: 25 lbs"
P is about 14 lbs and not sitting up unassisted yet, but he needs some more leg room!
@Erin, I'd totally buy a bigger RNP if they had one! lol
This, although, I usually put him in it in the morning when I bring him into our room (it gets too light in his room to sleep once the sun comes up).
I was terrified to move DD from the RnP - but she was obviously getting too big for it. She would push down on her legs and the top of her head would touch the top of the RnP. We knew it was time (she was 4 months, 16 lbs, 25 inches)
The transition was a lot smoother than I ever expected. Within about 3 days she was back to sleeping her usual 10-12 hours with one time up to eat. Now she is also rolling, so it was certainly the right time developmentally to get her into the crib where she has more freedom of movement.
I guess what helped us in the transition is that even though she was in the RnP since about 7 weeks, she was in her own room since 8 weeks. So moving to the crib was an easy step.
