When did you get a hb on doppler?

I got my sonoline b in the mail a few days ago and so far I haven't been able to find the HB. I keep getting a reading in the same spot from 145-163 but no sound so I don't know if that could be it. I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow and I don't want to start to freak out... but.... ugh. Sad Any tips from those that were able to find it at this point? Should I be worried or just put it away for a week?

It took me a few tries but I found it at 9w2d. That is CRAZY early so don't be disappointed that you're having trouble. You should have the doppler in line with your belly button just above your pubic bone. Push in some (in the beginning I used 2 hands) and then use the doppler like a joy stick. Listen straight down, if nothing angle toward your feet, then try angling towards your right hip, then your left and so on. If you here a whooshing sound like the ocean with your heartbeat in the background it is likely the placenta and usually the baby isn't far from that!

Don't focus on the monitor at all. I actually laid it on my chest and didn't look at the numbers just listened. The baby's hb will be fast like a galloping horse. GL!

I got my doppler at 12 weeks and used it the same day ...Like PP I found it right in the middle right above the pubic hairline

I found it at 9 wks 3 days....if you aren't hearing any noise at all try plugging in the wand again to be sure you have a good connection. Baby is super low at that point so start there and go slow! GL!

I believe I was 10w6d. Like others said, super low and towards the middle. FWIW, I had an OB appt at 12w+ and he didn't even try the doppler. I did just have an u/s before seeing him so we start the HB - but his words were "well, it's probably to early to get a HB on the doppler now." If I didn't have the u/s he would have tried, but was not confident he would be able to find it at 12w. Obviously, I got it at home so I was pretty sure he could - but my point it that it's still early and can be hard to find - esp at 9-12w. GL though, I hope you can find it soon!

Thank you all... I tried again with your advice and I *think* I caught it for about 8 seconds and then I couldn't find it again. Confused

I definitely heard a distinct galloping different from the wooshing and much faster then my hb. It didn't register a number, but I feel a bit better. I still think I'll put it away for a few more days.

THIS for me as well, and I agree with the adjusting of the wand, mine is a pooper sometimes!

I didn't try until the OB could find the HBs on her doppler since her's is better and she knows what she's doing. She couldn't find them at 10w or 14w. She found them at 16w and I used the doppler later that day.

I think I first used my doppler at 10w4d and I found the hb after some searching and figuring out what my hb sounds like as compared to the baby. Good luck!
