I know every baby is different, but....
Backstory: I just went back to work on the 6th and was leaving 6oz bottles for my mom, who is watching LO. LO sleeps from 9:30pm-ish to 8:30am-ish. Since I need to leave for work earlier than LO wakes, and I don't want to wake him as I wasn't when I was home, I pump in the morning before work, then LO gets a bottle from my mom at approx. 8:30, 11:30 and 2:30 as he eats about every 3 hours. Then I get home and breastfeed at 5:30 and 8:30, then LO is down to bed by 9:30pm. So he eats 5 times a day. Anytime I gave him breast milk in a bottle, it was about 6oz and he seemed fine, but right before I went back to work I really had not given him a bottle in a couple weeks.
So, when I went back to work I left 3 6oz bottles for my mom. She mentioned he still seemed hungry after the bottles. So the next day I left 7oz bottles. He did fine with that for the rest of the week, but then this past week my mom said he seemed hungy again after the 7oz. I told her maybe he just needed to suck, and to give him his paci, but he didn't want that. He normally only uses the paci for naps and at night anyways. So, I said if he was still seemed hungry go ahead and give him 8oz and see what he does. At 8oz, he is perfect, acts comepletely satisfied afterwards.
My issue is that this seems like so much for a 16 week old. I searched around on here and on other google searchs for averages for his age and weight (about 12.5-13lbs) and the 8oz seems very high there too. So I know he is getting 24oz when I am gone, and then he also nurses from me 2 more times. Maybe hes not eating as much from me?? He does drain both breasts, and I can keep up with the 24oz when pumping if I pump in the morning, 3 times a day, and at night after he goes to bed.
Does anyone else have a LO with similar weight and age at this much??
Re: XP from 3-6 months: Is this too much?
If your LO is hungry, feed her!
Landon weighed 15.5 at his 4 month appt (3 weeks ago), and he gets 30-35 oz plus 2tbsp rice, 2tbsp oatmeal, and 2 stage 1 solids a day.

Our parents and grandparents seem to think if a baby cries it must be hungry!
I would talk to your mom about what your after feeding routine is... burp, snuggle, rock, bounce, etc..
Good Luck!
This. Def as your pedi. DS is BF as well so i'm not sure how much he actually gets, but when I do give a bottle, it's around 4-5 oz because that's what I would pump from one side plus a little more. He never drains both sides except right before bed.
My mom is constantly telling me that he wants to eat. No, he ate an hour ago. She thinks I should nurse him to sleep for naps, except he prefers to eat a lot when he wakes up from a nap. Before going down, he roots for food, but even if I try to feed him, he doesn't eat, just wants to suck. I have to explain this to her since she's watching him once a week when I go back to work. There's no reason for him to eat every hour or so!
