Parenting after 35

FFFC

I got a couple

1) I miss Saturday mornings drinking coffee and watching the news all ALONE.

2) If you are a woman of a certain age or you are having hormonal difficulties and your beard is black and thick, PLUCK IT.  You may not be able to afford waxing but tweezers are a dollar.  I have a stray blonde hair now and then and I lose my mind until I can get to it.

3) If you are driving 45mph on a country highway that is posted at 55mph and there is no passing area for miles, PULL OVER and let me pass.  That is what the wide spots in the road are for.

Now lets here yours.

Re: FFFC

  • I ate two Yankee Doodles (Drake's cakes... cupcakes if you don't have them in your area) yesterday AND an Oreo (just one) because I'm so stressed with my DS's speech & developmental delays and my bout of hives, due to unknown origins.

I'm letting Aaron watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on my laptop while he's having lunch because he was having a meltdown and it was easy.

    That's it for now.

  • Last night, Rom didn't come to bed until 5:30 (as normal) AND Margaux scooted over and slept in his spot, and WOW did I sleep well.  Hurray for stretching out!

  • LOL, ita with all 3!!! We get a lot of drivers like yours, must be a rural thing.

Vanverth, I need your nutty neighbors and mine to live next to each other. "Late" mowing doesn't bother me - bylaw says not past 10, that's for all noise past a certain decibel. So my neighbor decides they have to mow the lawn at 11pm, and to get in the mood, they light up a couple of joints. And it's hot out. Love that I have to close my windows so the kids don't breathe it in. And by the time the local PD get there, it's too late.

My fffc; it's almost 11 and I'm not dressed yet. I have a ton of errands and jobs so I better get it done. But I am going to enjoy my coffee first, then get S down for a nap. And I want chocolate.

Oh, and I'm in a mild panic that I have to go back to work in October and I don't feel prepared at all. It's not that I don't want to go back, I just don't feel organized yet!!

  • When we were at Dutch Wonderland this week, I saw a woman with stubble. I felt badly for her, but felt the same way you do--pluck those hairs!!! Tweezers are cheaper than razors! I have a 'stache and sideburns (not like hers, though!) and I bleach them. But, that only works for fine facial hair. I have one whisker that pops up and, like you, once I realize it's visible, I can't do anything until I get it!

My FFFC: I am laying in bed, after my nap, using my iPad. I should get up and do *something*, but, alas, I am still here.

When I picked Smudge up from doggie daycare (after our day trip), I mentioned to the owner that we had a trip coming up in August. Well, later, DH and I were talking about it, and individually, we feel that we aren't all that thrilled with things at this specific doggie daycare. So, we are going to checkout a different facility that is closer to our house. I really miss the doggie daycare I took Smudge to in Nashville. They were really helpful and understanding (this was when DH was deployed). I would call them when I was close, and they would have Smudge ready, by the door, so that I would not have to get the baby out of the car. I still get comments from them on FB.

My FFFC is that I let M watch waaaayyyyy more TV while DH was gone because it helped with his bad mood and DH wasn't around to judge me.

Mine was Sunday mornings, but I so hear ya!

Work peeve more than FFFC...I keep my outlook calendar up to date.  Do not schedule a meeting with me and get cranky when I decline if my calendar shows that I am already booked or out of town.  Do not ask me to reschedule unless you are very high up on the food chain.  Ugh.
