Yes! I would love to homeschool my LO. Whether or not I'm able to do so will depend on the possibility of getting by on one income. I know that I will need to work for a while yet, but this is our first and our hope is that I can begin to stay at home when we have our second baby.
No, but I have a biased opinion since I am a teacher. It all depends on where you live, how the schols perform on state assessments, and if students are meeting all the benchmarks. I've talked to people who homeschool and have tutored a kid who was homeschooled. It can be a very difficult road. Dedication is key.
I currently homeschool my three sons and daughter. Ages 15, 12, 10 and 4 .
Is it for everyone? nope. Reason is you are with your children 24/7/365. You never stop teaching.
Would I suggest everyone at least try it? yes Reason is that you will have a new respect for teachers.
Would I ever send my kids to school? Nope. I have the best relationship with my kids. And I actually enjoy it.
What about socialization? Well there are homeschooling groups that meet at parks and churches. Some teach art, science labs, chess, writing, foreign languages and more. Some are for the kids to play with each other and moms and dads to exchange ideas, talk, and relax with like minded people. Most will even have field trips scheduled as well as parties.
Is it tough living on one income? Yes, but you learn to budget what you do have.
Will my kids go to college? Yes Colleges seek out homeschoolers to attend their school.

Ditto. As a middle school teacher, I've seen kids come in to their first year of public school from homeschooling and it's always a big adjustment for them and emotions run high for a while. My suggestion would be to wait until high school if one is planning to transition the child to public school at some point.
We also live in one of the best public school districts in the nation, and our taxes are paying for that, so I can't see not taking advantage.
"I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I'll go to it laughing."
Yes!! I know a few families who have and I really look up to them and their methods. I look forward to exploring this more in depth in a couple years. I've been really excited for that since before DH and I got married.

DH and I are thinking about it. He's Air Force, so by the time LO is old enough for school, we don't know where we'll be living. So, after we move again we'll look into the school programs and everything, but DH's best friend was home schooled and DH really loves the idea.
No. I plan for my children to go to public school.
If you are going to homeschool your children I suggest that you find many many activities for them to be involved in where they will interact with other children their own age, and not just other homeschooled children either. One thing I think people often don't think of when they decide to homeschool their children is that children do not only learn reading, math, etc in school they also learn very important social skills especially in those early years of school. Most people I have known who were homeschooled are socially awkward and never truly outgrow it. Also most kids hated it and wished their parents had just sent them to school so I am not doing that to my kids.
