My little one...
...already has a good amount of hair. We could actually see it floating in the fluid: it's that long.
...actually opened his eyes a few times during his 3-D ultrasound
...is already (wait for it) 5 pounds 5 ounces. My pelvis is not pleased.
...is notably strong, apparently. The ultrasound tech was impressed by the strength of the movement she could feel from the outside.
In short: my baby is huge, hairy, and strong. I think I am giving birth to Chewbacca.
Re: AW: Fun facts from today's appt.
Haha. Don't be afraid of a large baby! You can do it! (U/s is probably wrong anyway)

I'm hoping on all accounts! Though I keep telling myself, if I get a c-section, that's an extra 2 weeks maternity leave for free!
My LO is measuring pretty much the same. If you start getting worried about the size, there are a couple of really good threads recently about big babies over on Natural Birth.
Very cool about seeing the open eyes and hair!
When I was born, I was apparently so hairy that my dad jokingly asked my mom if she'd given birth to a baby or a puppy. We laugh about it now, but I doubt she was amused at the time.
(Btw: I'm still really hairy. I have more arm hair than DH. :$)
Me, too, although I feel so guilty for thinking that way.
I was pretty ginormous myself (9lbs 12oz), but that was attributed to my mom's untreated gestational diabetes. Still, good to know on eating and sleeping more! Chubsy bebbehs are totally adorable.
Thanks for the tip! I lurk over there from time to time and have heard a number of stories of estimated big babies who wound up average, so I'm not horribly worried. And even if he winds up big, that's fine, too.
I, too, was a little beastie. Mom still teases me.
Ha! Wow! That is a hairy little guy! I had the hair down the back and on the shoulders when I was born. My mom called it my mane.
See, I feel guilty for not hoping for a c-section. 2 extra weeks maternity is 2 extra weeks with my baby. I'm already dreading going back to work, so the more time with him the happier I am. While I'm hoping for a vaginal delivery, I think it's the unselfish part of me that wants a c-section.
I like the way you think!
They estimated J at 11 pounds at 39 weeks. He ended up being a c-section 3 days later, and was 8lbs, 11oz. Some serious miscalculation on someone's part.
If I remember correctly, somewhere around the 12 lb mark babies start STTN.
Boy's named William must grow big! We had an appointment today and my LO was measuring 5lb, 5oz too! DH was a big baby (almost 10lb) so we'll see what happens!
