Updates: Last week, I was waiting for my next midwife appt to discuss NSTs and growth scans. mrsfriend is doing well and trying to get into a routine with her new family of 4. mrsmikey was awaiting another u/s, but all is well so far. ijack is also doing well and is starting to get uncomfortable. Clotho!'s doing well, too, but her three boys are keeping her very busy. beyoga is 26 weeks and is feeling tons of movement from baby Violet. njkaren's newest addition is all settled in at home with her family. faeriequeeneonwow is doing well at 10 weeks along and is doing a 24hr urine catch this week to check on kidney function and run lab work. QOTD: Is anyone else more afraid of L&D this time around? If you'd like to address a question to the group, please feel free to page or PM me.

Re: Pregnant (& TTC) After Preemie Check-in!

  • I am exactly 3 weeks away from DD1's GA at birth. EEK!!!! This baby needs to cook for way more than 3 more weeks because I am not ready AT ALL. I'm still on my nesting kick, we cleaned and re-organized our entire basement and I'm getting ready to go shampoo the carpets down there in a minute, too. I really want all the clutter out and everything scrubbed down. Baby is doing well, we decided that since she is so active in there, NSTs won't be necessary unless her movement decreases or we find some issue at my upcoming u/s (a week from Fri). Assuming the u/s looks good, that'll probably be our last peek at her before we meet her! I just keep thinking - three more weeks until I'm 34 weeks (when Ellie was born), then 3 more weeks after that until I'm term. Really starting to get nervous!

QOTD: I am totally freaked. I think last time I hadn't really started thinking/worrying about it before we had her, so it was just kind of roll with the punches and hang on. It's really been on my mind lately, especially since we've decided to try for a VBAC, and I'm really scared! The thought of a vag birth and all the complications that can come with that freak me out, but I think it's really worries over the unknown, since last time around I was terrified of having to have surgery (C-section) and now that doesn't scare me at all. I would love to hear some kind words of wisdom from the moms who have had vaginal births!

36w!! Only 5 more days until full term :)

QOTD: No, I'm not. I actually think that having such a traumatic experience last time has given me the confidence to handle anything that L&D throws at me. I know that it's not going to be as scary as last time because at the very least I've done it before. I'm most terrified of actually bring a baby home with me :)

I'm 27 weeks and had a follow up echo after my 20 weeks a/s this past Monday.  Violet's heart and brain look perfect.  She had hair and weighs 2 lb 4 oz. The dr. said he would have kept me on bed rest until 32 weeks.  So just to be safe I will be scaling back my activity.  I go tomorrow for my 1 hour fasting gd test.

QOTD:  I am this time around.  I wonder what the pain difference w/a baby that weighs more than a pound and a half.  And dh has to watch Reid so am really wanting to make it full term or close b/c at our hospital he can be in the room with Reid (I also have a doula that will be there).  Not sure if he can be in the room at the hospital I delivered at.  It's an hour away and he couldn't make it in time for Reid to be born.

  • I'm here Smile Haven't heard back on my lab work yet, but that's ok.

And for QOTD: I'm not more afraid of L&D - I'm having a repeat c/s, but I'm extremely concerned about when I will actually have this LO. As of now everything looks great - I'm almost to my 2nd trimester - but things turned bad quickly with DD so I'm having issues with facing the holidays. Christmas will put me at 34.5 weeks, and even getting that far at this point seems unfathomable. I'm fearful of not making it far enough in the pregnancy for LO to have a chance of survival if an emergency c/s has to take place - like if I start to go into kidney failure again.

  • I haven't been around for a while, but DH and I decided to start TTC at the begining of the month.  Looks like I should be ovulating within the next few days, so here goes nothing!

DS is just over 3 now and was born at 34 weeks due to PROM.  I am not nervous about getting pregnant, but I am terrified of having another preemie.  I am not scared of L&D unless I have to be pumped with mag again...that was awful.
