Does anyone else have a tiny baby? At DD's 4 month appt she weighed 11 lbs 5 oz. She has not even doubled her birth weight yet...
The Dr said she is on track and not to worry but I see everyone starting to post their 4 month stats and DD is no where near 13 or 14 lbs.
Re: Tiny Baby
As long as your doctor isn't worried I wouldn't be. I have a tiny headed baby but I'm tiny headed too so I'm not surprised
I think our DD is on the smaller side too. We don't go till the first week of august, bd is 3/27. she was 10lbs 3ozs, 22 1/2 inches at her 2 month. Have tried to weigh her at home but our scale is screwy.
My LO is on the smaller side.
She was born 5 lbs 14 oz (19.5")
Her last check up she was 12lbs 6oz & in the 12 percentile.
Her Pedi explained that what matters most is the growth rate. She is hitting milestones fine and she has a killer appetite. If Dr says she's on track your good.
p.s. her head? 50 percentile
Mine hasn't doubled her birth weight, and she's at 13 lbs even (30th percentile, according to the pedi's charts). I was worried simply because she was in the 75th percentile at her 2-month check, but the doc was okay with it.
She just had me talk to an LC about ways I can possibly increase my supply.
But, honestly, my baby doesn't seem like she's starving and is STTN (and is hitting all the typical milestones), so I'm not too terribly concerned anymore.
You're not alone! My LO will be 4 months on Sunday and when I weighed her last week, she was at just 11 lbs even. I get comments on her size ALL the time and just last night someone said she didn't even look 11 lbs. That being said, she's hitting all her milestones and she's gaining weight each month, so I'm not worried. As pp said, if your doctor is not concernd, try to be concerned yourself!
we went to his 4 month check up today and he weighs 18 pounds! haha he was 8 when he was born. hes a little chuncker.
