Babies on the Brain

So we've established ignoring your kids is bad, but...

What about when my kids are ignoring me?

Believe me, after the clinginess the last week or so while DH is at work, I'm not complaining, but they want NOTHING to do with me this morning unless it's a snack or help in the bathroom.  I try to play with them, or even be in the same room as them, and I get, "NO Mama, go away.  No play with me."

I've been able to get 3 loads of laundry done, clean up the kitchen, and still Bump most of the morning.

Does it make me a bad mom if it's the other way around like this?  Should I be sitting in the corner of the hallway watching them play in the playroom or something?  Halp, this was never covered in The Bump parenting class!

  • Take this as a sign from God that you should put your feet up and relax.

  • Well isn't that the point of having twins? So that they can watch each other and you can drink and watch your stories on tv all day?

If not, maybe I should be rethinking this whole transfer 2 embryos thing.....

See, this is what I thought too.  We even have two dogs so that they can entertain and exercise each other, and I don't have to put any effort forth there either.  But TB has taught me otherwise and now I feel guilty.  LOL

  • I don't think you have a choice- force them to play with you even if it means they have tantrums about it.  Anything else is neglect.

I hear when kids don't want to play with you it helps to put them on leashes so they can't run too far.

  • Something about gifthorses, smiling, and mouths comes to mind. Don't second guess small blessings, particularly after how challenging they have been in recent months.

You know, I think I've heard this story before.  It sounds very familiar.
