3rd Trimester

anyone making headbands for their DD?

for crafty mama's, i'm looking for measurements for newborns. i'm tapping to my creative side & going to start making headbands for DD on the way. i'd like to make some for the newborn stage and then for infant .... how long should the bands be that the flowers will be on (newborn than infant)? anyone have any good tutorials of making headbands? I have found a few, but always looking for more :)

Thanks!

  • I'll be knitting some headbands for my baby girl, but for that I just follow a pattern so I'm not much help. Good luck and have fun!

  • I cheated and bought her headbands on Etsy.com. I am making her a scrapbook though as opposed to a normal photo album, so I'm not much help either. But have fun! You're much more creative than I am!
  • I made a couple and I think the elastic was 13.5 inches. If you look on Etsy at the headbands, they usually tell you how big the headband is for the different sizes. I just went off the consensus there.

Okay, that's what I was planning on doing if I couldn't figure out anything else like for sure. Thanks!
  • I cheated as well and bough some. BUT I did make her a quilt!

  • I have a question...headbands you would buy on places like etsy how would you find out if there is any latex in them? DD is going to have a latex allergy so before I waist money wonder if there is a way to find out

I'm sure you can contact the seller. But, honestly I'm not really sure. How do you know she's going to have a latex allergy?

She has spina bifida and because they have so many surgeries from such and early age they have a latex allergy  from all the exposure.

I remember you now... We had talked before. You're at CHOP, right? We talked briefly because my DD on the way will be getting OHS at CHOP. I don't remember the thread we talked on before...but now I remember the spina bifida and your name. How are you? PM me if you'd like.. I'm down CHOP quite often.. Only one more time, though, before DD is born.

Latex - Yeah, I would contact the seller before you buy  ... they can check with their supplier!
