Especially if your kid is highly mobile - crawling, pulling up, etc.
I'm beginning to wonder if the reason B is waking up at night to nurse again is because he needs more solids during the day. Our pedi said to give 2 servings at 7 months but he's always on the go during the day, I wonder if he's getting enough calories?
We send 2 baby bullet containers (~2oz each) and he gets one of those mixed with cereal.
Re: Solids - how much are you feeding?
She gets two meals a day. I try to offer what amounts to about a half a cup at each meal. So I would offer a whole sliced nectarine and a few strips of chicken at one meal and then 4-5 good sized pieces of squash and a couple strips of cheese at the second.
We're doing BLW, so it's a bit different, but our pedi advised offering a half cup twice a day if we were doing purees mixed with cereal and BM/formula.

Oogh. That's definitely more than he's getting. Ok, we're going to try increasing this weekend. I'm also going to see how much cereal DC is giving him.
We try to offer finger foods on the weekend (he's fairly indifferent to them, actually) but can't do full BLW because of DC. They won't let him do finger foods until he's a bit older.

Avery eats 3 meals a day. I give him 4 cubes for b-fast, 3 for lunch and 3 for supper. So 7.5 oz solids a day because they are 3/4 oz cubes.
We were doing about 2T of cereal & 2+ oz of purees, but I think that was too much for her too fast. We also just switched to formula, so I think it was too much adjustment at once. So now, we are doing 1T cereal & 1-2 oz purees, and she is doing much better.
We also started giving her water from a sippy with her solids. She has about 3-4 ounces per day of water.
Thanks everyone. We're definitely going to increase now. We had tried going up to 3 meals a day a couple weeks ago but he seemed to be getting constipated, so we backed off...
I hope this helps with his sleeping. DH and I are getting frustrated.

My chunker gets 3 meals a day - about 4oz of solids each with some random finger foods thrown in there as well.
He also has 22-24oz of formula a day.
He STTN.
He's very active with crawling, pulling up, etc. Between bottles and solids he eats every 2-3 hours during the day. I feel like I'm feeding him all day long, but he goes 12 hours at night without eating, so that's fine with me!
He's 8 months old today and I got him weighed yesterday and he was 20lbs exactly.
