Food Allergy

Milk/soy free question

My son is on the alimentum and will be on it till 12 months. The dr does not want us to introduce soy/milk products until then.

He eats all fruits and veggies. We have start meats, he has ate chicken, turkey, I haven't started red meat yet.

What are your other suggestion for milk/soy free foods that I can let him eat.

I apologize, but I am using you as my google right now, because I am worried about making an error on this.

DS has acid relux and milk protein allergy, and had torticollis, used to EP, now we FF . April siggy 3-6 month

You didn't mention it, but maybe you already have.  What about starches?  Whole grain bread/toast, tortillas, pasta, rice.  Just make sure to read labels carefully.

Also, you could try scrambled egg yolk and even whole egg scrambled.  I've been told that it is the egg white that most are allergic to.

You could also try some beans - garbanzo, black, kidney, pinto.  DD doesn't like garbanzo beans, but she loves them mashed with some olive oil to make a "hummus".

    Coconut yogurt

I didn't menton this, because I wasn't even sure there is pasta out there he CAN have.

Evan loves avocados!  He will eat an entire one in a sitting.

We were completely dairy free when DS was that age.  He loved pasta, black beans, graham crackers (they might have soy though, we weren't soy free).

  • My LO is allergic to milk & soy & I have given him the following without any problems. Bananas, peaches, pears, squash, peas, carrots, chicken & beef. I also make all of my own baby food. But when I don't I use Earth's Best products. I also gave Earth's Best Rice Cereal (Gerber rice cereal contains milk or soy can't remember which one) and puffed Millet which I blended with some formula to break it down a little. Millet is tastey and milk/soy/gluten free. I also gave him Plum brand banana puffs and Toddler Rice biscuit Mum Mums. Neither one has milk or soy. The Baby Mum Mums contain milk. Both the puffs and rice bisquits basically melt in his mouth. I also bought gluten free oatmeal by Bob's Red Mill which is gluten/milk/soy free. You can also get quinoa if your LO is ready for it.
