Holy Sh!t (Literally)

DD was napping peacefully in her PnP, and I laid down on the couch myself and started dozing off to "Through The Wormhole" (yes im a cosmology dork).  I wake up 20 minutes or so later to some serious crying.  She has been fussing and fighting the nap all afternoon, so I walked over expecting her to just be cranky.  Well I could tell right away something was wrong, because she STUNK.

She had poop all over herself, the diaper, her onesie, a muslin swaddler and a receiving blanket.  Somehow the newborn napper in her PnP is unscathed, but holy moly.  The girl is gifted.

    Yikes!  DD did a similar thing in her bouncer.  Thank goodness the seat is washable!

    Oh goodness!  DD has yet to get poop on her outfit, but I'm dreading the day this happens.  She's had some pretty impressive poops lately!

    You use CDs, right?  Have you just recently gone from using newborn size CDs to OS?  We had some pee leaks when we were first figuring out the OS diapers.

    I do use CD but oddly enough, she was actually in a disposable when the blow out happened.  All of my cloth was either upstairs or in the dryer, plus Im trying to finish off these last few newborn sposies.  So the most poop I've ever had to touch was disposable, not CD related :)

    I have recently gone from NB to OS on my pocket diapers, but I really 90% am still using NB sized prefolds, which have never leaked in any way.  So far, my OS have held up....

    That isn't odd to me at all!  I've heard that blow-outs are way more likely in disposables.  And I LOVE prefolds; they never leaked on us either.  The only times we've had leaks in the OS were when we were figuring out how to snap them to the correct size.  Since we've figured that out, we've had much better luck.  :)

    Just wanted to chime in that the only poo-splsion we've had was in a disposable too. and it was EVERYWHERE

    I've had some pee leaks, but only b/c I had an edge of the prefold poking out under the cover. 

    I've definitely touched way more poo with disposables that CDs

    We've had a couple blow outs but LO only poops about 3x a week so I expect them to be huge when he does. The worse one was when he was wearing a disposable diaper- it got all over the front of his shorts, up his chest, down his legs, soaked his onesie completely etc. I think the CD leaks less because it is meant to handle poops for babies up to 24lbs and it goes up so high on him there's less leakage.
