Legs and feet still swollen???

LO is 4 weeks old and my legs and feet are still swollen. My Dr has given me 2 seperate prescriptions to get the excess water out, but it's not working. Im about to call the office now, because my legs are throbing. Anyone else having this issue?

Re: Legs and feet still swollen???

  • I did not have this issue, but a friend who gave birth 2 days before me ended up with leg/feet swelling and headaches about 2 weeks post-partum and ended up spending a few days back in the hospital with "post"-eclampsia...(she's doing fine now).

  • My legs and feet were horribly swollen after having  baby....like 4 times the size than they ever were when I was pregnant, went all the way into my thighs. All the nurses in the hospital told me it could last up to 6-8 weeks. Thank go mine only lasted about 2. Elevate them as much as you can. I would sleep with them up as high as I could possibly get them. Drinking tons of water helps too. Good luck....I feel you pain!

  • Good luck!  My swelling went down in about 2 weeks.  Only thing is, it has been a while he will be one month on Monday.  My right foot is starting to swell again??
  • I know what you mean. I had my whole leg was severely swollen and it took me a little more than 2 weeks for it to come down. I had to basically try to not be on my feet as much, and I drank a lot of water, cranberry juice and juice that my mom will make made out of orange juice, celery, fresh aloe vera and pineapple. I always needed to use the bathroom though.

I hope that your swelling goes down. I know how that feels, I didn't even remember how my feet actually looked. GL
