Blood on Sheets? Concerned

I don't know if it was blood.  I've never seen the formula look brownish/orangish before.  He could have spit up because it was on his pjs also.

He is 4 months old.  At first I thought it may even be wax from his ears because they are very waxy.  I will call the pedi but I wanted to find out if anyone has seen this before....i'm not convinced that it is blood.  It doesn't look Red....

  • Are you feeding him any solids yet? That would change the color of his spit up. His ears would have to be pretty waxy to get on his sheets and pjs.

  • No I wouldn't think so. Hmmm well hopefully your pedi has an idea of what it could be. At least it's not bright red, that would be troublesome. Good luck!

  • Do you BF as well as FF? I had this happen very early on after some intense marathon nursing sessions and the pedi wagered it was my nipples bleeding but to call if it happened again. It did not, so I figure he was right. Any chance that could be a possible cause?

  • My LO is a huge spitter and he drinks allimentum and sometimes it does look brownish-orange-ish when it winds up on his clothes.  We also do rice cereal.  I would call your pedi - we did the first time it happened - just to be sure.
