Sorry if this has been asked..
My husband keeps saying, I wish there was something we could give her to help this. For instance I have read that eating local honey can help with seasonal allergies. Is there something that a child can eat to help heal their stomach from allergies? I know it wouldn't help in extremely allergic children but in mild allergies. I know this may be far fetched but it would be wonderful if there was something we could do to help her system heal itself or be a little more tolerant. TIA!
Re: resources
the only thing i know is "avoidance"
i would love a magic pill. Seasonal allergies might have something to sooth it, but food allergies is pure avoidance.
I did put my son on an organic diet so hopefully that will help a little but nothing has been proven.
I've heard and have just started reading some information about "curing" food allergies. A regular MD wouldn't ever touch the subject- but a lot of neuropaths and chiropractors have information. My DH is pretty sure it's "voodo" and a scam. For now I'm just starting to research.
The leader of my BF support group/mom's group told me about a book that she's using with her son (he has mild food issues) but I can't remember the name of the book. For now- I'm just reading what I can find on Google.
Not sure if we'll ever go that route- and getting my DH on board would be a PIA- but I figure since our allergist is the head of the department at one of the top childrens' hospitals in the country and he agrees with the research that shows no set cause or cure- it can't hurt to do some looking outside of traditional medicine.
