More efficient all of a sudden?

DS has always been a slower eater (EBF), in the early days taking 40 minutes to eat. Lately he'd got it down to about 20. Today though, he seems to just want to eat for like 10-15, if that. I'm not complaining, and I get that it could just be today and he's having that sort of day. I'm wondering though, those who've BTDT, or others with slow eaters, did they just sort of all of a sudden get more efficient?

But so suddenly? I guess he's been working down the time, it just seems so sudden today

  • OH!!! I thought I was going to have a lazy eater FOREVER. WOO HOOO

I'm looking forward to this. I BF for an hour minimum. He takes cat naps between feeding.

Kids to all sorts of things out of the blue. I don't think going from 20 to 15 minutes is that sudden, but you said it was sometimes less. It will be fine. My first had days when he was too distracted to eat a lot, then went back to his regular long eating schedule.

Yeah, I think maybe I'm also noticing moreso because I'm bored out of my skull today, and the bored days are the FTM-think about stupid things days.  Not that I'm in panic mode about it or anything, but it's just more noticeable.

  • Violet used to eat at least 15 minutes on each side.  Lately she's been eating 10 minutes on one side and being totally content for 2-3 hours after (during the day, longer at night).  I'm not complaining!

  • Mines gone from 45 minutes to 20 to sometimes just 10.  During the day I let her eat as long as she wants and pull off when she's ready.  At night, the first time she wakes up I give her at least 20 minutes and then see if she is ready.  I've learned if I give any less than that at the first wake up she wakes up far sooner.  The second wake up sometimes I get away with just 10.. but I try for 15 or 20 or she is up in another hour.
