Did you dc STTN before you went back to work?

DS STTN three nights in a row so we moved him to his crib a week and a half ago and of course he hasn't STTN since.  I'm getting nervous as I go back to work in two weeks.  If you child wasn't STTN when you went back, how did you cope?

  • oops I meant "your dc"  just an example of what the sleep deprivation is doing to me.

  • Nope. I actually found it easier to get through the day in the office on little sleep than I did when I was at home with DD on little sleep. I had so much to do and come up to speed on when I went back to work that it forced me to "wake up." And I would using pumping as a little rest for myself.

FWIW, we just moved DD to her crib recently after she had been STTN for over a month and she started waking up again several times during the night the first week or so in there. Now she's back to STTN.

  • He's not STTN yet, but we cosleep and bf sidelying in bed, so I'm not too sleep deprived... it's the only way I could cope!
  • Just got back on Monday and at 1 week shy of 4 mths he's nowhere close to sleeping through the night.  This week was rough but got better as it went on.  You just find the strength from somewhere.

  • DD is 5 months old and still gets up 2-3 times at night to eat.  I've been back to work for over a month.  You just do it.

  • Hell no. I went back to work at 10 days pp so, um, no. He's just begun STTN within the past half month. You just cope, you just do. Like everything else in motherhood you just do. And you don't think you can until you do. You'll be ok - you're a mom, you can get through anything.
