I have a gauze wrap that my son and I both love, and I'd like to start trying some back carries with him. Is it safe to do a rucksack in a gauze wrap? All of the front carries we do feel very secure so I'd like to branch out some.
I have watched a lot of videos on YouTube and feel prepared to give it a try but just wanted to inquire about safety.
It is supremely hot here so would like to stick to the gauze wrap for now for my son's comfort and my own!
Re: Rucksack in a gauze wrap?
Thanks! I was just being overly cautious. I will try tonight when I have a spotter!
It is from Lil Peepers Keepers on Etsy. It is pretty thin...
Double Hammock and Jordan's Back Carry are both great (multilayer) back carries
Though it's warmer than a ruck, double hammock is the most comfortable and supportive carry in my opinion, and JBC is pretty comfy and easy to do.
If you're really wanting to do a ruck without springing for a "normal" woven you could buy a couple of yards of Osnaburg. It's not much to look at, but it wraps ok and takes dye well.
Thanks for all of the advice! I watched some youtube videos of the double hammock so I think I will give that a try. I will also look up Jordan's Back Carry. I may spring for a normal woven when it cools down here and when my baby gets bigger.
Thanks again!
