Since we're moving, we're having to totally re-arrange daycare (it's something I'm definitely sad about--we have a great set of daycare and preschool right now and I'm almost willing to drive the 12 miles one way to keep going there...but I'm not quite that crazy...)
We'll be living just north Fair Oaks Mall, so I am investigating in-home day cares in that area for DD#2 and I have found some, but if anyone has a specific recommendation of an in home day care in that area, I am all ears!! We're hoping to find something that has an opening in early September or late August.
Perhaps more importantly, I need to find an all day preschool that DD#2 can start in February when she's 2. I have Hunter Mill Day School on my list (I think someone on this board takes her kids there), but are there any other recommendations in Vienna or Fairfax that are comparable in terms of cost and approach? I have been very spoiled paying just under $1000/month for DD#1's preschool, and I am hoping against hope that I can find something around that amount.
TIA!!!
Alice
Re: another daycare and preschool question
I think that's Hunter Mill...it's on a bunch of farm land...sounds awesome...
Sorry I don't have any DCP suggestions, but I am the one who sends DS to Hunter Mill Country Day.
We love the school and if you have any specific questions, please just let me know. If you haven't done so, you may want to get on the waitlist now for a Feb. spot...we were on the waitlist a year and probably would not have been taken off except for my niece also attends the school. However, I also know they don't like to start all of the "tadpoles" in Sept. so they may still have a late start date space available. My DD will be starting with the tadpoles next June so she would be in the same class.
I too have heard good things about Appletree II and Parkwood, which is near Metro is also very popular.
