36w..2cm...and a little stressed...

in 3rd Trimester

so i had my 36 week appt today (ticker off slightly) and was told i'm 2cm already.  it's kind of stressing me out because it's still early and i'm hoping she stays in there a couple more weeks. 

anyone dilated so soon and still hanging in there?

    At 34 weeks I was 1 cm moved to 2 cm at 36 weeks and have been that way ever since.  I just had an app yesterday the doc confirmed still 2 cm, cervix high, and most likely not moving to delivery anytime soon.

    i was dilated 3cm at 32 weeks and didnt have my son until 37w 2d. dilation doesnt really mean a whole lot. so dont stress!

    yes,don't stress. doesn't necessarily mean anything, although it could. i was dilated for 3 weeks before i went in to labor with ds#1. he ended up being 10 days early.

    I went to L&D for pre-term labor at 35 weeks, and they stopped it, but I was at 2cm then. Since then I have only dilated another .5cm, but have been taking it very easy. It could still be a while, try not to stress about it too much.

    My SIL went into PTL around 30 weeks. She was 3-4 cm dilated, and her doc told her that there was no way she'd make it to her due date. She ended up being induced more than a week after her EDD.

    Point is, there's just no way to tell! Just take it easy from here on out. :)

    I was 2 cm at my 36 week appt too.  I opted out of any more internals because I found them painful and unnecessary.My water broke on my due date and I had my son the next day.

    Don't worry or stress.  Your body is going through a lot to get ready for labor.

    I was 2cm and 50% at my first internal at 37w with DS. I was 2cm at 38, 39 and 40 weeks! DS was born at 40w6d. Yeah, being 2cm now means nothing. You could go in labor next week or next month.

    I was 2 cm at 36 weeks- now I'm at 3 cm and still waiting . . .

    With my first, I was 2 at 36 weeks but delivered prior to 38 weeks.

    So basically- it can go either way, in my experience.
