BF question

All of a sudden DS started this really annoying habit of breaking off and relatching right away. It's not like he is distracted as he doesn't look around or anything when he does it. Anyone else experiencing this? How do you correct it? It is really annoying.

DS did that at around 2 months. He stopped eventually and now only pulls off every once and a while

DD does this all.the.time. She loves to look around, and does this alot especially when there are other people in the room while I am feeding her.

I just keep relatching her, or take her to a quiet room where she isn't distracted.

DS even does this in dark quiet rooms. It drives me nuts!

Lissie's starting to do this, too. And she fusses each time she pulls off. I'm wondering if it's a supply issue...but she doesn't seem hungry when the feeding's finished. She has her 4-month check-up tomorrow, so we'll see if her weight is being affected!

M is doing that too because of distractions. As long as he doesn't hvae thrush in his mouth (pull of because it hurts) then I would say its normal.

DS does this when I'm not in a dark quiet room. He also pulls off if either DH or I talk. It's super annoying.

Jessica does this sometimes waiting for the milk to letdown. She'll pull on and off until letdown and then latch and eat like normal.

DD does this all the time since birth, so I don't have a solution for you unfortunately! Sometimes she is fine, other times she is a crazy baby. I can't bf her in public because she is just too crazy. I hate feeding her in front of anyone except H!

That would drive me nuts too. DD is also supplemented with formula so there have been times if she won't latch on the breast well, I will give her a little bit of formula from the bottle, then once she's not starving anymore put her back on. Our situation is differen though since we don't EBF since I don't have the supply.

Declan does this sometimes, too. He'll pull on it and seem really frustrated. Also, sometimes he'll stop and smile if he's looking at me. That I don't mind though...I love it actually!

Nathan does that on occasion too. I think it's cute. But the pointless ones drive me nuts!

At around 3 months for both of my LO's they would get distracted and pull off. I ended up getting a Mommy Necklace (one of the long dangling donut ones) and both have been so content and interested in playing with them, that they stopped pulling off! I love 'em!

Mine does it too and it is annoying b/c then I think he's done but wants to eat so soon again! Glad you posted this, I wondered what he was doing by pulling off all of the time.
