I'm probably going to step on a toe or two here but...
I have a large quantity of cash to deposit (we sold 2 cars this week!! We have entirely too many vehicles). Well, my bank is out of state so my option to deposit cash was Western Union. the closest one to me is at a Money Tree. Today is the first of the month. And a Friday. And a holiday weekend. The trifecta of Money Tree people watching apparently.
The line was FORTY PEOPLE LONG. And I only have my lunch hour. And I stood there watching. Among the highlights: A man nonchalantly leaning on the counter with watching spread out - obviously for sale, an entire gallery of what could have only been discount tattoos, there were TWO people in line who had apparently wet their pants, and a whole lot of grumbling by people who thought they had better things to do with their time (they appeared to be homeless and I was definately judging).
I'm not a snob. I've been in tough financial times - I have taken payday loans. But the downtown Seattle Money Tree was truly a horrible place to be for over an hour.
AND they couldn't deal with my deposit - it was too much cash for them. Ironically.
I did get to watch several people at the teller adjacent to me pay for one loan while placing another. I can only hope they're buying healthy food at the grocery store or diapers for their kid. right? (kidding kidding...I'm not THAT judgy...or maybe...sigh)
Re: worse than Walmart - people watching
Hahaha, no way.
Really?!
Bwahahahaah. That's hilarious.
No flames from me, I'd probably feel the same way. I've never been in a money tree though so...
I always wear my LBD to Walmart. Don't you??
I had a very similar people watching experience when I went to the Social Security office in South Everett.
I was dealing with the name change stuff after we got married and it was the closest location at the time. I will never do that again.

I would like to talk with you about your experience on the first of July. Were you trying to send your bank the funds from the sale of your two vehicles via Western Union? What was the explanation for not being able to send this money?
I would like to help
Uhh. This. That isn't really relevant or anyones business.
Steal my kids picture or pretend they are yours, I will find where you live and ship all of their dirty diapers to your doorstep. Promise.
I've already shared everything I'm willing to. and one post - just to ask me this? Um. *denied*
