Ashburn/Reston/Fairfax daycare

Hi Ladies, I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good daycare anyway in Ashburn, Reston, Herndon, or Fairfax area?  I have a 3 month old son and am looking for somewhere that will give him attention instead of just leaving him in a swing or something all day.  I am looking at center daycares but am open to home daycares if there are good recommendations.  I would really appreciate any thoughts you have!!  Thanks so much!!

  • We like Goddard too - though we are at a different one then Sofya. I am pretty sure there is availability in the infant room right now and the staff is WONDERFUL....we have been there about 3 yrs now.

  • Reston Children's Center.  We moved away 9 months ago, and I still miss it every day.
  • I send my son to the Goddard school and am really happy.  They have two locations in Ashburn (I send him to Research Place off 7).  I know Sofka sends her daughter to the one in Belmont Green if you want to page her to get her opinion if that one is better for you.

It's a chain, but all privately owned franchise.  I know they have to have some in Fairfax and/or Reston, but I can't speak for those.

  • We're at Winwood and absolutely love it. They have locations in Reston, Ashburn, Leesburg, Lansdowne... and a few in between. We're at the Leesburg location, but we have friends at Brambleton, Lansdowne, and Reston and everyone feels the same way we do. If you have any questions about programs, policies, etc. I'd be glad to answer.

We used to go to Goddard (Research Place) and liked the infant room enough, but was less than thrilled when he moved up to the Infant II room (9-18 months). The classroom is TINY and I didn't get the vibe that the teachers were thrilled to be there. It also wasn't very clean.

After Goddard we did a short stint at Kiddie Academy, and I wouldn't recommend that place to my worst enemy. They have a beautiful new facility that sucked us in - but within a few days we realized it was all a facade. Luckily we were able to get him into the Infant II room at Winwood after just a few weeks.

My only advice is to research, research, research.  I wish we had started at Winwood from the very beginning but was frightened off by the price. Now I can happily say that it is absolutely worth every penny. Good luck!!
