I was dropping Claire off this morning and I when I went to get her out of her car seat I set my keys down on the seat (just like I do all the time)- I then realized that her shoes were sitting on the front seat- I left her door open and opened the front door to grap her shoes- the second I shut the front door a gust of wind comes- blows the back door shut and at the very second Claire hits the lock button on my keys!
I instantly became a hystercial mess! OMG at 815am here it's already 90 degrees! My phone was also locked in the car- so luckily I was at my friends house- she called my husband and told him to go home and get the extra key, but he was at least 40 minutes away! Claire was fine- sitting in her car seat laughing hitting the lock button over and over again on my keyless entry( my car kept honking) We kept trying to get her to hit the unlock button- no luck! In the meantime my friend is on the phone with the fire dept.
Finally she threw the keys down- and only by the grace of God did the button that opens the back gate on my SUV somehow got pushed- and I was able to climb in through the back and unlock the doors.
I feel like the worst parent! I am literally still shaking!!

how scary!! I'm so glad everything worked out ok!
this is one of my fears too. Every time I get out of my car, I'm so paranoid that the door will lock before I get A out of her carseat. :::shivers:::
