We signed our agency contract!

We just completed our two day pre-adoption seminar this afternoon and are officially signed on with our agency! Can't believe how real it finally felt when we were walking out of the building- amazing difference. We should have our intake interview done by the end of the month, then two home visits and individual interview/meetings with the counselor hopefully by the end of August. Then we wait to enter the pool. We were told that it takes 6-8 weeks for the homestudy to be prepared, so hopefully we will be officially "waiting" by halloween. Any advice from you guys on the best way to get thru this process would be much appreciated. Thanks!

That is a very exciting and very REAL step in this crazy process! Congratulations! We have been certified and waiting for 3 months now and it ha been much easier than I expected. I have had tough days here and there, and I know that it will continue to get harder the longer we wait. My biggest piece of advice for you is to keep yourselves busy doing things together. Go on vacations, day trips to your favorite spots, and lots of date nights! Also, take care of those projects you have been thinking about around the house. We remodeled a bathroom and got new carpet, so that helped to make the first 2 months go much quicker!
