Well I just went through my first cycle of chlomid and IUIs. I was scheduled for my prego test today and it came back negative. Now what should I do? I can try the chlomid again or try the shots. What should I do??? Everything is so expensive...

Re: Tested Negative...now what?
I'm sorry that your 1st IUI didn't work. Are you seeing an Re?
After my 1st negative IUI I waited for AF to arrive and then started clomid on cd 3-5 again. My Re will have me do 3 clomid cycles, and then move onto injectables.
I don't know the lingo. What is an Re?
I am just so discouraged. We got pregnant 2 years ago and I miscarried. I got on birth control after that, but I have been off for a year now and still nothing...
My doctor said that I can go straight to the injections if I want or I can try chlomid again...
I just don't know what to do...

Well I am only 25, but have been ready since my first pregnancy (and loss) two years ago.
My husband and I both got checked and everything is fine with us. I had two follies at different stages last time...lining was 7.2...
Did you get prego on the injections?

I skipped clomid (and IUI)because I don't have any underlying ovulation issues that we are aware of and the success rates seemed so much lower. (Plus, I'm not a fan of just taking meds to try them out, although I know that many dr's give Clomid routinely as a first line treatment, and I have a good friend who tried on her own for over a year, took Clomid for one month (no IUI or anything) and got pregnant, so all things are possible!
You will have to weigh the pros & cons of the money and the success rates as well as possible complications/side effects of the different kids of meds & see what choice is right for you. Your dr should provide you with the success rates for the oral meds & injectables specific to his/her practice.
GL!

If it is an option to go to injectables, I would do that. They are more expensive than clomid but seems to get better results. I have a choice to go with either and I am going to go right to the shots that way it is one less step before going to IVF. Luckily I have IF coverage or I might think of this differently.
