Someone I know accused of molestation

So last night we were watching the news, something we rarely do. DH was about to change the channel when I saw the headline was something about a daycare worker accused of abusing a child. I figure hey, we're having a kid, we should probably look out for these things now, so I tell him to hold on a sec.
Well they say a daycare worker was accused of touching a boy and videotaping, then they put up a picture of this guy we both know from high school! He was a year older than us, and we went to a small school so we pretty much ran in similar circles. VERY VERY VERY weird thing to see.
DH called and told his brother about it, who also knows this kid, and he said that another mutual friend had learned about some very incriminating situations involving children from this guy directly, so chances are it's not a baseless allegation, although we will obviously wait and see what happens.
It's such a weird feeling to see someone you know plastered up on the news like that, involved in such a terrible thing. I don't even know what to think...

Same happened to one of my sister's close friends. He was arrested on like 60 counts of child abuse and child porn. My sister is the one that called the police on her friend when she and his gf found a memory card full of pictures of kids under the age of 5.

No! He was totally normal, hung out in our circle of friends, never had a problem with him. He volunteered with the summer education program for low income kids at our school, which at the time seemed great and now seems creepy
That made me LOL...totally creepy! I can't imagine recognizing someone on the news. I always wonder how people feel when they recognize bank robbers and such they put on the news. One of these days I swear I'm going to recognize one of my bar patrons!
If you google the name of the bible camp I went to every summer as a kid, 90% of the responses are about the legal troubles of the former director of the camp.
This camp was in a small town, so the guy was also the pastor at my grandparents church. I knew him and his wife fairly well before we moved away.
He's facing sexual assault charges dating back to when my mother was a kid. None of this even came out until 2 or 3 years ago. He has been accused by several girls that went to the camp.
Totally freaky.
It is such an awful feeling to see someone you know on the news for things like these. One of my friends from HS was married to a guy for about 5 years and then he was caught luring minors on the internet. The really bad part is that they were living with her parents when the police arrested him and her mom runs and in home day care. Such a creeper!
