Our daycare does a little birthday party for each child. We have the option to get the birthday child a small gift. This month there are 2 birthday boys ages 7 and 3. Any ideas of a good small gift for them?
Also, DS turns 1 next month, so I would like to send favors for his party. There is a wide age variety, so I'm not sure what to get. I would rather do 1 or 2 nicer, larger things that a bunch of cheap crap they are going to throw away.
Re: Party Favors and gifts
We were at a party last weekend with a similar age range. They gave each kid a small bag with a box of crayons and bag of animal crackers. It was great, not junk to toss or too small for W to have.
For the b.day gifts what about Baskin Robbins $$. They come in $2 amounts so you can just give each child one in a card, enough for a kids cone.
I was thinking books for the birthday presents. Seems like kids always get tons of toys at their birthdays, I always thinks books are a good gift.
As for the party favors, I think cmcmillan's idea of crayons and a snack is good!
Bubbles are good favors too for any age kid.
I like the ice cream gift card idea. Or I was going to suggest books too. Or a Hot Wheels car for the 3 year old and a small Lego thing for the 7 year old? Like this:
