I finally have a dream baby that only wakes up once in the night to nurse, but my toddler is now waking every hour or two ALL NIGHT and crying for us to come lay with him. This has been going on for 3 weeks and my husband and I are like the walking dead. I just bought an air mattress so I can sleep in there with him all night and get some rest. UGH!

What if you don't go to him? I know that's mean, but he might be learning a bad habit from the baby.
Oh I am totally for CIO. That's how we originally got him to sleep through the night when he was 7 months old. He's always been a crappy sleeper, so any change or trip messes it up. We let him cry the other night and he kept going for an hour and it kept escalating (banging his head on things), so I gave up. Then I read that the waking and needing mommy is pretty typical around 2 and that it's best to just indulge it for a bit. We are going away in a couple weeks, so if it isn't better after that, I'll revisit the CIO. I don't want to do it before that, since the trip will mess up his sleep anyways.
I was just so excited to be rewarded with an angel of a baby after going through hell when DS was an infant, and now it doesn't even matter!
