Not sure if I should do a light yellow wall or light green/sage
The set comes with a bumper. I like the look but heard it's not safe. Is there an age where it would be considered safe or would it be a complete waste?
Re: Love this bedding! And bumper question...
Cute set!
I was thinking of doing something different with the bumper, like maybe making a window valance or something. So that it doesn't go to waste.

Cute!!!!
Agreed ~ try to only use breathable bumpers.
The other day, someone on here (forget who) suggested putting a traditional bumper on the OUTSIIDE of the crib instead... guess its worth experimenting with!
We did the exact opposite with DS, left off the bumper before he was mobile incase god forbid he got stuck up against it, then when he was mobile and able to lift his head up if he got stuck we put on the bumpers to avoid his limbs getting stuck in the crib or waking up because of hitting a rail. As a side note, the bumper then and now provided good noise protection too, we have very wild cats in our house at night, so the bumper and the noise machine did a great job at keeping his space quiet.
I made DD's into a window valance you can see it on my blog from a few years ago here.
One of the issues with the bumper is the air flow in the crib so weather the baby is rolling or not really doesn't stop the SIDS risk. Of course it's a personal decision but we just say no.
BUMPERS ARE BAD!! Here is an exert from the cheif coroner of Ontario:
The Office of the Chief Coroner cannot stress enough the importance of the following information for parents, caregivers, child welfare agencies, health-care professionals and government ministries:
Unsafe sleeping environments - Infants should sleep alone, on their backs and on a surface specifically designed for infant sleep. The Paediatric Death Review Committee stresses the importance of not bed sharing, particularly with infants under the age of 12 months. Examples of unsafe sleeping environments include: adult beds, couches, armchairs and infant swings. The sleeping environment should not contain bumper pads, toys, pillows or covers designed for adults. Thanks, it was super easy I just measured my window and took the measurements to Home Depot and had them cut the wood for me. Then I attached it with some L brackets and screws. Them I cut the bumper down the middle or the back and attached it was a staple gun.
