. When we put him on his belly even for 3-5 min he cries.
Any tricks to make this easier for him? He can sit in his bumbo with his head
up pretty good, but hates lying on his tummy. I don?t want him to get behind in
development.

Re: tummy time
A bumbo seat isn't designed to help a baby learn to hold up their head, it's actually the opposite. It supports a baby, so they need to put minimal effort into holding their head up. Don't get me wrong, I like the bumbo seat just fine, but it's not great to put them in it all the time.
If he hates tummy time, just do tummy time on your chest, or over a boppy pillow. Just make sure his arms are up by his head so he can work all those muscles.
Tummy time is to help the baby build their upper body and neck muscles. Maybe try getting a tummy time mat?
The bumbo seat should not be used until your baby can support holding their head up on their own (see legal statement):

My Birth Story
Babies need tummy time to work on fine and gross motor skills, it's not just for their head.
We started by doing a lot of tummy time on the boppy so her head hung off the end and she could see the toys/mirror below her. We also did a lot of it on our chest. Now that she sleeps on her belly tummy time is not an issue. When she wakes up she pushed herself up and looks around while she waits for us to come get her.
She can hold her chest off the ground using forearms for about 5 minutes now.
This! I burp M on my chest and if she doesn't pass out afterwards, she will use that time to lift her head and look around and head butt me! We also have a boppy tummy time mat. Don't just lay him down on it and walk away make it more interesting for him by laying on your tummy infront of him or beside him and talking, smiling, playing, singing, dangling things infront of him.
A lot of babies hate tummy time. Just do it as he tolerates it. PPs have good suggestions of how to make him like it a little more.
Holding the baby upright a lot also helps develop upper body strength and motor skills, so you can do that too. Just make sure baby isn't spending tons of time lying on their back.
