We did a timeout once with Margaux when she hit me after I asked her not to, she was 18 months, I think? it was for one minute, no anger or anything. She took it in stride, but hasn't hit anyone again. We plan to integrate timeouts as needed for real when she reaches 2.

We've only just started doing timeouts, where we sit M down and explain why he can't hit/climb/grab whatever and have him in timeout for a few minutes. I still don't think he gets it, but he will soon.

Yeah, she might be committed after a day in my house. What her baby is doing is totally typical of that age. The remedy for correcting her behavior is repetitive and time consuming, but so what part of parenting isn't? If she is having problems coping already, I'd hate to see her with two. She could benefit from parenting classes.

And that post didn't bother me as much as the post on 3-6 yesterday from the woman who was looking for a FF car seat for her 5 month old. That woman would not want to meet me IRL, because that is one thing I will confront people on.
