Up all night...

Poor little guy had his 2 month shots yesterday.  I knew he was going to be fussy, but no idea how bad.  I was told he would have a fever and he did.  Little guy only wanted to be held by me.  He would only sleep for intervals of 30 mins.

I am happy to say that he fever is finally gone, but now I am scared that this will happen again with his next appt of shots. Sad

  • :( Hope he sleeps a lot today to make up for it! 2 month shots were definitely the worst and each time thereafter got better!

  • Did you give him tylenol?  That always helped my 2.  They were always good sleepers after their shots, since they always made them sleepy.  Hopefully he will take some good naps today so you can get some sleep!

We only had to deal with that type of reaction the first time Max got shots. With each appointment, the fever, the clinging, and the fussiness were less. Now, he doesn't react to shots at all, getting them or the aftermath. I hope little man starts feeling better soon.

  • Poor baby.  Tams told me to provide Tylenol 30 mins before the shots and that has helped us out tremendously.  DD really does not have any issues with shots but DS sure does.  So he gets the original Tylenol (and now Ibuprofen) and then a few hours later before bed.  It helps with his sleep for sure.

Same here! In fact, we were planning on delaying/spreading out a bunch of her 6-month shots, but DH took her alone and spaced about it, so she got all of them then.  She cried a little, but by the time they were home from the appt., she was back to her happy camper self.

  • Little M's 2 month shots were bad last month too!  :(  Makes me worry about the 4 month shots - which I think are the same shots as the 2 month.  Grrr.  Glad your little guy is feeling better!

  • Oh wow!  We have James' 2-month appt next week.  Good to know what we may experience.

Although, J and I are up most of the night, anyway.  He eats every 3-4 hours (I have to wake him, if he's not up already--- which he usually is).  But no more then 30 mins at a time must have been hard.  I get 1 hr - 2.5 hrs at a time.
