Well I have posted a few times before, usually questions but I thought I would introduce myself. I'm Dana. Live in Smyrna. I have two doggies that are my children now but would really like a human baby!
We have been TTC for 9 months with no luck. Irregular cycles, no ovulation and such. I went for an HSG test today and the dr could not do the test because he said I have a narrow cervix. The cath would not even go into my cervix (TMI sorry). Anyone have any experience with this kind of thing? I appreciate any knowledge.
Re: Lurker Intro and question
I am sorry you are having trouble - I can relate to your frustration. Were you sent for the HSG by your OB? Have you considered seeing a fertility specialist? If you do - there are a bunch of clinics in town, but there are 2 that are known to be the best. RBA and ACRM. There are pros to each clinic. I went to ACRM and had a great experience. I LOVE Dr Denis and recommend him, and the practice, highly.
If you want more info about these two practices, feel free to email me at jandayatl at yahoo dot com.
As for your narrow cervix, well, maybe this is good news in that you may have identified a possible obstacle to conception. Knowing what the problem is gets you one step closer to your BFP.
Best wishes.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the well wishes.
Janimal- the HSG was ordered by my OB. My OB and I have a plan through the new year. If things don't work out I will be moving on to an RE. Thanks for the info. I maybe be contacting you after the new year if I don't get a BFP before then.
Betsey- Wow our doggies do look just alike. Crazy.
Hi Dana,
I'm new too! Based on the information you've given (TTC 9 month, irregular cycles, no ovulation) you sound just like me. I never did have the HSG test before my BFP but it had been scheduled when I got it. After not getting much of anywhere in trying to figure out why I wasn't o'ing with my OB I switched to another practice for a second opinion.
That new doctor thought it sounded like I possibly had PCOS (more info here if you're not familiar https://www.soulcysters.com/ I had 50% of the usually symptoms so my new doctor decided to try that course of treatment for a cycle and then do an HSG. He put me on Metformin/Glucophage which is actually a drug used to treat diabetes and when I got to the right point that cycle he had me also add in Clomid. We followed his calendar for when we should do the deed and low and behold we got a BFP that cycle. SInce it happened so fast on those drugs I can't know for certain if it was one drug over the other or the combo of the two. Don't know if you and your doctor have talked about or ruled out PCOS but I thought I'd pass my story along just in case.
Good luck, I know it is so frustrating to feel like your body won't cooperate.
