DD goes to bed between 8 and 9, we just started our bedtime routine last week. Previously she would stay awake with DH until 10 or so and then come to bed but she started to be hard to put down then, so we started a routine. Now she wakes up at 4, eats, gets changed, and has decided that this is the time to play or tell us a story for about an hour. She sleeps in her crib in our room, so it is hard to go back to sleep. I am wondering if I should move her bedtime to 9 or 9:30 so she won't do this...any suggestions? TIA
Re: Story time at 4am
Could you move her to her own room? And then maybe let her chat to herself for an hour without it bothering you? Or sometimes we use a crib soother thing with music and pictures that project on the ceiling...would she put herself back to sleep if she had something like that to entertain her?
If moving her to her own room isn't an option, I would maybe skip the diaper change. Unless she's poopy, we don't change Audrey's diaper overnight because it wakes her up too much.
Good luck!
