Spit up, laundry, and the husband

I'm a SAHM of 2 and I don't go out too much with both kids yet. While at home, when DD spits up on me I wipe it up as best I can and then just go on about my day. I will change my shirt before bed or only if it's just SO much or if the smell bothers me.

My husband gets a splat of spit up on his shirt and has to change his shirt. He acts as though it's going to burn through his clothes and scar him for life. So annoying on the weekends when he's wearing a junky tshirt and he goes through 3 of them in a day.

Anyone other husbands do this? Or am I weird for not changing my shirt immediately?

Re: Spit up, laundry, and the husband

  • I only change my shirt if I'm covered (which happens every other day or so!), but like yours, DH changes his shirt EVERY TIME.  I told him that I refused to do his laundry...

This is so my husband!  Like a little baby spit up is disgusting and toxic.  He's even taken a shower before over spit up and he changes his shirt for drool.  I change my shirt if it's like a pool or smells bad.  However, I run at least one load of wash a day so the extra laundry doesn't bother me at all.  I have to change my shirt usually once a day due to leaking an trying to use reusable cloth pads.

  • We are in the same boat here.  My husband immediately changes his shirt.  I wipe mine and move on with my day.  I actually think it's funny because my daughter mostly spits up when she's with him.  It's like our secret little revenge for him being grossed out by her spit up!
