OB and Hospital Rec???

We are thinking we might be preggers and are planning to test tomorrow AM, but in the meantime we are looking for a good ob and hospital to deliver. We live near Tacoma, but are trying to stay away from Tacoma General and St. Joes as we didn't have a good experience with them when we were pregnant last year (we miscarried). We are thinking about even going as far as Bellevue if that will get us a good understanding doctor who is not surpried by patients who read (dr. last time told us how suprised she was that we read, since most of her patients only watched a baby story!).     I delivered my DD#2 and my stillborn at Overlake - great experiences but I no longer work in Bellevue and I didn't want to drive that far (live in Auburn). 

    I asked here the other day and was recommended to Associated Valley in Renton with delivery at Valley Medical Center in Renton.  I had an appointment today and I LOVE them!!! :-)  Since I am considered high-risk (hypothyroid and 3 losses), they were very reassuring and didn't make me feel like I am crazy. 

    I am going to see Dr Channel and she seemed very nice, although all 6 drs in the practice were recommended.

    DD#1 11/7/04 DS#1 6/24/06 Chemical Pregnancy 6/08 DD#2 1/28/10 after secondary infertility, Clomid, & acupuncture missed m/c 6/2010 at 8 weeks (baby stopped growing @ 5.5) DS born sleeping 1/13/2011 due to cord accident at 22 weeks. DD#3 3/10/2012

    Same here!  Let us know how you're doing.  I delivered at UW Medical Center with their midwives (and loved it), but I'd be nervous about going that far from your neck of the woods.

    Thanks ladies! We confirmed our thoughts and that we are in fact pregnant! We are excited, but are trying to quell it at least until we get a few more weeks in and past the 12 week threshold-but it seems so hard to do.

    Anyhoo-thank you for the recs, we will see which one will fit us the best. We also got a rec from another doc, for Dr. Bartels in Gig Harbor. The only problem is that would mean we would have to deliver at Tacoma General-which we aren't to keen on. I will keep you guys posted on what we decide to do.
