Hey everyone. I don't usually post over here on the baby board. I'm new to the Detroit area and have only been here for a few months. I'm loving the area so far and all the family things there are to do. I moved from WNY to Canton area for my husband's job. (can't figure out how to change my city- if anyone knows how, let me know!) I'm a SAHM for my two kids- 3 1/2 year old and 13 month old boys.
So the Wild Summer Nights thing. If you're unfamiliar with it, it's at the zoo. Every Wednesday night 6:30-8pm they hold a concert which is included in the zoo admission. I've never been, yet. This week (tomorrow) is a children's singer. Mr. Seley and the Troublemakers. I'm heading to the zoo in the late afternoon, after naps are done, and my husband is meeting us for dinner and the concert.
I just wanted to throw it out there and wondered if anyone is interested in attending and maybe meeting up for the kids to play and parents to meet and get to know each other. Moms, dads and kids are all welcome.
My husband and I would like to meet people, and I know my 3 year old would love to make some new friends now that he's not in daycare and we've moved away from his friends.
If not, that's ok too! ![]()
Re: Wild Summer Nights at the zoo (and an Intro)
Ok... I'll try to plan better next time and post more than one day notice
We're at the zoo a lot (probably once every two weeks or more!) My boys love it and it gets us out of the house and me some 'exercise' that's not in my living room!
I'll try to post more on this board too

So it was a lot of fun. We got there late because the boys decided to take their best naps ever and I didnt' want to wake them. And traffic was awful on 696.
Anyway, we missed a lot of the concert but when we were there it was fun. Both my boys loved the music and were dancing up a storm. The only thing that got my 3 yr old to leave was bribing him with the butterflies
He wants to go back and we will. This time we'll eat dinner at the music and enjoy ourselves on a blanket. There were a lot of kids there (and a lot dancing at the front of the stage)- it was so cute.
We're going to the zoo sometime next week in the morning if anyone wants to meet up. I haven't looked at weather, so I'm not sure what day yet.

We have a zoo membership too. Once baby is born, and depending on my energy level for getting out of the house, I would like to make it to a zoo concert this summer. And it would be fun to meet up with some of you there!
