Infertility Specialist in Columbia/Towson

Hi ladies!!!

I'm a regular on Trying to Get Pregnant. I was diagnosed, today actually, with unexplained infertility. My Dr gave me two clinics to call, one in Columbia and one in Towson. I was wondering if anyone here has positives/negatives about an RE experience in these areas? Could you PM me (or post, but it feels odd putting their names out on the forum board, doesn't it?) about your experience? I want to call them and get an appointment set up tomorrow.

TIA for your time! I hope you are all having a great Monday evening.

Re: Infertility Specialist in Columbia/Towson

  • Hello! I went to the one in Towson and loved them. They were so encouraging and supportive. They made me feel like I WILL get pregnant, especially when I had my doubts. My issue was that I did not ovulate on my own and they got me to ovulate. I did IUI (intrauterine insemination) and conceived my daughter. Sophee is 6 months (see pic in siggy). I was very pleased with the service and hospitality I got every time I went there. Also, consider where you live, I live in Owings Mills and the Towson one was the closest one to me. In addition, my gyn recommended that one to me. Hope I was helpful and hope all goes well.

  • I used the one in Towson as well.  The nurses, doctors and even the random staff were all really wonderful and I plan on going to them again when we are ready to conceive again.
  • Shady Grove in Columbia. I can't say enough good things about them. I've never had a Drs office that was so compassionate and supportive. I cried when I graduated from there and had to go to my OB for the rest of my pregnancy.

  • In Towson there is Shady Grove at GBMC and The Fertility Center of Maryland, which is where I went.  I highly recommend FCM, I loved it and it's a small, very personal office where you really get individualized attention.  (I was in and out for most easy appts. in <20 min). There are 3 doctors, and all of the nurses knew my name when I came in.  They do their own bloodwork and have their own cryo lab so everything is onsite.  I was there through 4 iui cycles and 2 ivf cycles, so I got VERY familiar with everyone and everything there. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.  Good luck!!
  • I highly recommend Fertility Center of MD....they are very personable and do everything onsite or at GBMC.
  • I also went to FCM and I love them.  Nurses are friendly, doctors are wonderful.  It is a small office so they do know their patients fairly well.  It's a good choice all around.
