Took DD to a bday party

So a friend of mine's oldest daughter turned 8 this week, and I took DD to her birthday party.  I've been very close to her since elementary, but this is the 1st chance I've had to take DD to meet them since we left the hospital.

Since my friend's Mom had DD for the moment (someone I trust) I walked off to talk to another friend.  While I was talking, I saw friend's sister walking over towards the Mom and DD where she proceeded to stick her icing covered finger in DD's mouth. I immediately went back to DD and took her.  I explained that we aren't feeding her solids yet and especially not sweets.  The sister just rolled her eyes and walked off.

Towards the end of the birthday party, the same sister hands me a goody bag, telling me I can have the tootsie rolls, but the suckers are for DD. I don't get some people.

Aside from the 2 incidents, the party went great.  I got to see some friends i haven't seen in a while and got to show off DD.  I can't believe how much the birthday girl has grown, it seems like yesterday she was just a baby!

  • I know what you mean !!
I had a few co-workers who would boast about how one's child would eat 5 oreos and the other's would cry if she wasn't given cheetos, both were less than a year old.
Maybe they think it's cute..? or they honestly don't understand how unhealthy it is as such a young age

  • Ugh, I would be livid! A couple weeks ago we were at a grad party and DH's uncle put a drop of beer on DS's hand, which promptly went into his mouth. I was NOT happy.

  • How old is this girl? She seems to be completely clueless about babies.  Since when is it even safe to give a baby a lollipop, let alone healthy for them?

  • The girl is actually in her early 30's, and has 3 boys (10, 8 & 6).
