I thought it might be a good time to break out the wax and take care of some personal grooming, so I wouldn't have to worry about it for a while.
Welp, heck to the no. My skin is insanely sensitive right now! I did my eyebrows, same temperature as usual, and got a burn under my left one! Like, a blister! I'm sure glad I didn't start elsewhere, if you get what I mean.
Re: Ow, dang! Mildly TMI
omg! That sounds awful. This may be TMI for you as well but...I won't schedule waxing appointments anywhere below my neck anytime before, during (obvs) or right after my period. I did a Brazillian a day or two before my period and it not only hurt like heck but I thought my skin would never be the same - the waxing lady told me that homones during that time screw everything up.
Possibly the same during pregnancy?
Also, have you ever tried threading? I don't dare do my eyebrows but I do my lip, etc... at home.

It is awesome!! I'm Irish and have super-duper white skin that is also highly sensitive to just about, well, everything. Threading redness only lasts about 10 minutes with me. I think it hurts more b/c it takes longer but the side effects are so mush less than wax. Love it!
Anyway, I got on youtube and found a girl - she was young and wearing a head scarf - she was a really great instructor. I'll see if I can find the videos again - I watched them years ago.
Ok - I just checked and there are tons of videos out there. I couldn't find the one I watched, though.

Ouch! I have had eyebrow wax burns before, they hurt.
Definitely don't wax any part of your body you can't see, if you know what I mean.
Oh, dear. I have not had "elsewhere" groomed since I got my BFP and I have been comtemplating going back to my waxer to get things taken care of, but now I'm scared.
We're headed to the beach next week for vacation and I decided to get cleaned up beforehand. So yesterday I took myself to the salon for a full leg, underarm and "elsewhere" wax. HO LEE CRAP.
You know all that increased sensitivity that makes second tri sex so lovely? Well it also makes a bikini wax one of the more painful things I've ever done. She was half way through and I nearly asked her to leave me with a lopsided disco mitt. Jesus. And people really get tidied up right before delivery?
I've been tempted to go in - mainly for hygene post baby (the idea of Post partum bleeding and no grooming is grossing me out!)
maybe the pain would send me into labor!!
(too bad waxing is so expensive around here - $80 before tip and I'm too cheap to spend the money right now!)
