Where do you live and do you like it there?

We are planning on renting a home soon as we have out grown our condo and are TTC #2. Were open to moving to the suburbs or the city. We currently lie on the very edge of Chicago near Oak Park. Since we plan to rent and don't need to be settled in a school district for about 3 more years, we're pretty open to anywhere. We're looking for something with a great neighborhood feel to it. Where do you live? Do you like it?

We live in Northbrook and love it. We recently moved here from Evanston because we wanted more space (multiple bedrooms, nicer kitchen, yard, garage) and it's been great. We just conceived, due in March and we're excited at the prospect of more space.

We weren't thinking abt it at the time but Northbrook school districts are great so thats a plus. Just a nice area with lots of families and very convenient.

I live in Mount Prospect and LOVE it!. It was voted the best place to raise children 2 years back. I have met several other mom in the area through park dist classes and the parks and pools are great too. I have actually seen a couple of homes for rent near me. Good luck!

We live in Lincoln Square and love it. We're on the north edge of it, still very neighborhood-y. We know nearly everyone on our block. We'll be here a while still.

We're also in Lincoln Square. I love how family friendly it is while still being urban. You'll get a lot more space for your money than you would further south, too.

I am in Downers Grove and I love it too! It has a good balance of socio-economic diversity, easy access to downtown, nice people and good bang for your buck house-wise and not horrific taxes. We recently moved from a smaller house in Downers to our current home. It was just too hard to leave!

I am glad to see how many people love their towns!

I am in Lincoln Square and DH and I really love it. In fairness, we have only been here a couple of months but we love that there are a ton of families and in the section where we live, the community takes a lot of pride in maintaining the neighborhoods. It feels very residential but we are only a few blocks away for great shops, restaurants, etc. Plus, DH and I love being right off the Brown line.

I'm in Lincoln Square as well. Hi neighbors! Looks like there's a lot of us. DH and I definitely love it. It's great for renting but better make some good money if you want to buy around here.

we live in Lombard and we love it here! there is plenty of things to do. Easy access to the train if you need it. The home prices are reasonable. Hope you find what you are looking for!
