Houston Babies

I think we are a napless household now.

Ever since we took away Abby's pacifier last weekend naps have been the biggest fights of the day. Last Friday she screamed in her room for an hour before passing out, if she ever did. We fought with her for another hour on Saturday to take a nap before we went somewhere. Yesterday we just let her go without and she did just fine. In fact she had more energy then anyone else in the house.

I'm sad to lose that quiet time in the afternoons but on the plus side I guess we wouldn't have to come home for naps.

  • Awwww.....your baby is growing up.  I am looking forward to getting past the nap stage.  Especially with an older kiddo who wants to go, go, go, and the little one just can't keep up and gets super miserable without one.

Me too! Tru still naps sometime but only if we have a demanding schedule and takes a fight to make it happen. I look forward to the freedom of no naps.

  • Waahh! Don't tell me this! I don't want freedom!!

Tracey can skip naps, but it doesn't make bedtime any easier. Today it took her a good 25 minutes to fall asleep, but she was just playing with her animals in her room before she conked out. No fussing at all.  We went to the zoo this morning, so I knew she was tired.

If it makes you feel any better Reagan napped til she was about 3.5. : )

Abby was able to skip naps occasionally. Sadly she only went to bed about 30 mins earlier last night and was still up early this morning.

Don't despair....we still nap sometimes and did most every day until she turned 5 (not a a strict regimented scheduled nap, but at some point during the afternoon). Frankly, mine just NEEDED the nap. All kids are different & require different amounts of sleep.

I consider myself extremely lucky that I had (have) such a great napper.

Oh, yeah, I think Mathis will nap until he is 16. He is 2 and still takes a 2.5-3 hour nap everyday. Also, on vacation, Truitt napped every day except one.

We are a nap free house :(  It sucks!!!!!  There is zero down time....
  • I'm dreading this day! Rena's naps are hit or miss at school but she still takes pretty long naps at home on the weekends. I use that time to get so much stuff done! She's very high maintenance so I can't do much during the day so I look forward to the naps!!
