DS goes to sleep by 9:30/10pm. Almost every night he wakes at 2 and 4- sometimes a few other times during that time span- just to put his paci back in his mouth. Sometimes he wiggles around for a while before getting back to sleep or off and on during the time from 2-6. His eyes are always closed, and he doesn't really seem to need to get up to eat. He gets up at 6 to eat. I'm wondering what wakes him up and makes him sleep so restlessly. I'm so glad he doesn't get up till 6, but it's exhausting waking up 3-4 times to put the paci in his mouth and getting him to sleep. I'm sure he's tired too!! I wonder if it's gas. Is it weird for him to wake up at almost the exact same times every night?
Re: Waking at night
It may be his sleep cycle, coming out of a dream period etc. It may be a left over response to when you were feeding him throughout the night. My baby wakes up like clock work too but I normally nurse her back to sleep. The last two nights she has sleep through the night (yeah!) but I expect her to go back to getting up 3-4 times a night.
I know that I get into a pattern of waking up at the same times every night. Like the last two nights I woke up at normal feeding times to find out that Alice was sleeping through them. Also, I tend to wake up at the same time every morning if I need to or not.
