We always knew that Alex is allergic to something... the poor kid scratches himself raw silly ever since we started solids. I thought it was just the eggs and am pretty careful about not giving him any.
We finally got both boys tested today. Turns out Harry is slightly allergic to dust mites (yawn, who isn't?). Alexander turns out to be allergic to dust mites, mold, eggs (white and yolk), beef, and lentils!
WTF? Who is allergic to filet mignon?!?! To top it off, here's our dinner menu for the week:
Mon - Hamburgers
Tues - Salmon
Wed - Hot dogs
Thurs - steak
Fri - sushi
Poor kid can't have any of it! I feel sick to my stomach that I've been giving him food that he's been allergic to! UGHHHHHHH!!!!
Re: Mommy guilt in full force
Ohh I have never heard of beef allergy before?!
And DON"T feel guilty. This is nothing that you did. It just happens. My gf's daughter was basically allergic to everything...the only thing she could eat was oddly enough, was beef, cheese, cantalope, puffs and like 3 other things. Every Nut, bread, ect she couldn't even be near cause she would break out. It was hard by they got through it and Abbie has even out grown some of her allergies.
Don't feel guilty! Your a great momma!
They didn't even bother testing for seafood yet since they ran out of room on his tiny back. Soooooo sad!
The doctor said no seafood and no PB in the foreseeable future. We retest in 3 months.

I responded on FB but wanted to say something here too. My cousin's little boy was allergic to chicken, pork, beef, eggs, wheat, and garlic. They had to do a lot of turkey until they were able to re-introduce certain things. We eat a lot of turkey also. One of DS favorite foods (and mine too) is turkey meatballs. I think the ones we get are Jennie-O, they are so good. Might be a good finger food to think about, and easy to keep a bag in the freezer and pull out a few at a time.
Don't feel bad! Who would have ever thought of beef as a thing to eliminate.

OH NO!!!
I have a friend allergic to beef! My nephew is allergic to just about everything and she has an amazing cookbook that covers ALL allergies. I'll ask her what it's called when I talk to her tomorrow.
Don't be hard on yourself. You had no way of knowing!!! Hang in there momma!
