is it a generational thing or what? why are my mother AND MIL on top of me with when i'll start DD on rice cereal! at her last visit, LO gained 2 lbs in a month and the pedi says there is no need at all for rice cereal since she's been gaining fine. on top of that, she has torticolis and he wouldn't recommend solids until her neck control gets a little better.
i feel like i'm a broken record with them, "ounce per ounce, breastmilk and formula have more fat and calories....." and forget it when she was EBF.... i think they breathed a collective sigh of relief when i started supplementing w/ formula. my MIL fed DH a tablespoon of oatmeal his first day home from the hospital!! and i constantly get, "well i don't know how my boys survived with all the rules they have nowadays!" she'll be watching her next month when i go back to work and before she starts daycare. though i'm grateful, i'll be hiding the oatmeal!!

my grandmas are the sammmme way! it is so annoying. thye kept telling me give him some water its fine and im like no i cant, and its the same with the rice cereal. just give it a break alreadyy. his pedi did have us start rice cereal to see if it would help with his spitting up bc its thicker but it didnt help. it just give him tummy achs.
Wow, I'm suddenly incredibly grateful to my mother right now! She didn't start myself or my sisters on solids until we were 6 months, and I had to work so she was right there at DD's 4 month appt with my DH when the Dr. said "when you start solids at 6 months...".
I can't believe so many people have relatives that are all about starting solids earlier than the parents are willing too.

See everyone keeps telling my DH that we should add rice cereal so he'll sleep through the night.
He's been sleeping through the night since he was about 6 weeks old. IF he wakes up, it's one time during the night. DH doesn't even get up!
I want to punch my husband sometimes.
This! except its my MIL...
