Pregnant after IF

Pubic pressure/pain?

So, the last 2 days, I've noticed a LOT of pressure/slight pain/discomfort in my pubic bone area (I don't know how to describe the location...kinda the spot where your belly meets your pubic area...). It feels more uncomfortable when I have to pee (which is every hour or two!), but even when I don't have to go, I feel the discomfort.

I've chalked it up to my bones moving around getting ready for labor, and possibly the baby being a bit lower now. However, DH asked me tonight if I'm going into labor (when I mentioned this discomfort to him). It struck me that I honestly don't know! I don't THINK I am....but I've never done this before, so I have no clue!

Anyone else having this type of pressure/discomfort?

  • Does it feel like you are saddle sore?  One of my girlfriends asked me about 32 weeks if I was saddle sore yet and I didn't know what she meant and then about 2 weeks later I totally got it, it was like I had been riding a horse or bike for a week and just an uncomfortable soreness in my pelvic area.  If that's what it feels like it is apparently normal, if that's not what it is then I'm not sure.  Sorry I am not a lot of help.

  • I've not experienced this myself, but I have heard other women say that they felt like that when the baby dropped. That's my guess!

Yeah..maybe that's it. Although from what I remember about bike/horse riding pain it seemed more in my thighs and down between my legs. This is up a little higher....but similar, I suppose.

I have my OB appointment on Wednesday, along with a growth ultrasound....so I guess I will bring it up then, too! I'm not too concerned by it yet. It isn't bothering me TOO much...just making me a bit slower getting around. And I'm not having cramping, or anything that would make me think something is wrong or anything. Just a new pregnancy symptom to get used to for a bit, I suppose!

I've been having the exact same thing for a few weeks now.  I have been assuming that it's from the weight of the baby moving down further into my pelvic area.

  • I started having this a week ago.  When I went in for my last cervical check, there was a big head that dropped into my pelvis.  I assume that is the cause.  I also have the bladder discomfort, too.

  • I started feeling this around 33 weeks or so. My doctor told me it's one thing, or a combination of things.  Could be the bones separating to get ready for childbirth, pressure on your bladder from the baby, or the baby dropping.  I have no idea when babies are "supposed" to drop though. I think my little guy has only moved down a tiny bit.  A friend of mine is 34 weeks on Friday and has been feeling this pressure too, so I think it's a normal occurrence.  It would come and go for me, but is almost constant now!
