  • L and C have this one:

It's almost 4 years old and you couldn't tell. I love the molding around to prevent toys from rolling off.

Then they just purchased a train set that sits on it. They have the Brio train set but also track for Thomas and it all gets swapped around from time to time

  • A few months ago, we bought Ethan a used Imaginarium train table for $25.00.  It came with a few pieces, but definitely not everything.  It's currently in our basement, but we are planning on buying pieces and giving the table and train set to Ethan for his second birthday.  Here's a link to the table that we bought.

  • Do ya'll think that Jack is too young for a train table/trains?  Most of the stuff says 3+, and he won't be 2 until March.  I really like that PBK table, Aga!  I also like one at Land of Nod, but it's almost $500 for all the parts....I should restrain.  Anyway, he does like trains, I got him a PBK train set to at least play on the floor with, so I guess it wouldn't hurt anything to have the table too!  Just don't want him to tire of trains before he can even really appreciate it...

  • I think my boys are a little too young for a train table...but I'm thinking about the next yr since their b-day is SO close to christmas. I'm thinking closer to 2.5 yrs old really, but everyone I ask says a train table it a must.

the one I really like is out of stock at toys r'us so I'm trying to find it else where.

  • Stephanie, I don't think Jack is too young at all. Audrey started really diggin' trains at about 18 months. She ran as fast as she could to the train table at Barnes & Noble when we'd go book shopping. If you got him a table similar to the PBK one, you could always use it for just a table when he got bored of the trains. And then you could reintroduce them a little later and he'd get all excited again :)
  • well and I guess I also have another little boy coming along right behind Jack that will also get a lot of use out of it :)  Katie, which one do you like at TRU?

  • Grant got the Imaginarium Train Table from Toys R Us last Christmas. We got him that table because it was on sale for under $100 and it came with the table, trains, track and buildings. The track is compatible with the Thomas trains. Grant was 16mo when he got it and he loved destroying the tracks for the first few months, but after that he started really playing with it and still plays with it all the time!! I still say it was the best thing we got him last Christmas.

  • the Imaginarium train table...same one amanda and brandi are talking about. its $149 and that includes a train set. I'm hoping they have it in stock again soon.
  • My mom got Elliott the Nilo train table for Christmas last year which would have been about 3 months before he turned two. He loved it and still does. She also got him the storage bin on rollers that fits underneath and a little stool. We then purchased some new train sets and some used from ebay and craigslists. He loves his train table.
